I love October as much as I love September. There is still change in the air: the color of the leaves, the early morning frost, the drastic change in temperature from morning to afternoon. There is a lovely poem by George Cooper totally fitting to my feelings about October:

October’s Party

October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came –
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.

The month of October saw the introduction of the Model T and the introduction of the iPod, making it a month of worthy innovation. October is the month in which the Peanuts Comic Strip was first published as well as the month Captain Kangaroo first aired, making it a great month for kids and kids at heart. October is the month we celebrate World Teacher Day and World Habitat Day, making it a great month for those who give. October is the month in which the American Library Association was Founded and National Poetry Day in England, making it a wonderful month for book lovers and readers. October is the month in which Eleanor Roosevelt, Hillary Clinton and Margaret Thatcher were born, making it a great month to celebrate the strength of women. October is the month in which Pablo Picasso was born, making it a great month for art lovers. October is the month in which Dwight D. Eisenhower and Theodore Roosevelt were born, making it a great month to celebrate leadership.

What do you love about October?
