A friend of mine read my recent blog post about my favorite “F” word, and asked me what my favorite “V” word is. It was easy to tell him what it’s not: it’s not vulnerable. While I really admire Brené Brown, vulnerable is just not my favorite word.

The “V” word I like is voice. Voice is how we break through the virtual world into personal touch. A simple phone call, where you can hear the person’s voice and feeling being conveyed, makes a difference.

Whether we’re standing up for someone who needs us, using our voice to encourage others, speaking up for changes we want to see in the world, or singing happy birthday to a friend, voice matters.

How are you using your voice?
