“I am not the same having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world.”  ―Mary Anne Radmacher

I love January for all its firsts. I added one this January: My first time in Africa. It was my first time that far out in the world, my first service trip in Africa, my first safari and my first time being that close to so many beautiful animals. I was never more challenged and changed from a trip.

The biggest lesson I learned is the power we each have to make a difference when we:

  • ♦ Work together. Everything is bigger, better, faster, sweeter, and much more fun when         there is community and collaboration
  • ♦ Educate. It’s where hope, potential, and opportunity grow exponentially
  • ♦ Put our best selves forward out in the world
  • ♦ Appreciate what we have, give back, and pay it forward

There is beauty and power in the personal courage each person has, especially when we use that courage to make an impact individually and collectively. Don’t hesitate to put yourself out in the world – I hope to see you there!
